REFERRALS


We provide Rongoā Māori and Mirimiri services for whānau who have been approved through ACC and InStep. Our approach is guided by tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori, working holistically to support the wellbeing of tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit), and whānau (family).

Our practitioners work in partnership with you and, where appropriate, alongside your wider support team to ensure the care you receive aligns with your approved plan. At the same time, our practice remains grounded in kaupapa Māori healing principles, creating a space that supports restoration, balance, and overall wellbeing.

Booking in with a referral

 

As soon as we get your referral, we begin the process of arranging your file with us. This ensures we have accurate information and that our treatment is suited to your concerns. We will contact you via your contact details provided to us by your referral source and book you in at our closest available date or one that suits you best. We may book you in for multiple sessions on the initial contact as to fit you in faster and establish a treatment routine, some choose fortnightly or even monthly treatments.  

ACC referrals 

Rongoā Māori is eligible to be part of your ACC healing/rehabilitation plan, you are able to request this through your ACC recovery team member through MyACC or by contacting ACC directly. To do so, you can contact them by phone or email and quote our business name and vendor number, VBI172. ACC will review this request as a part of your approved injury claim and once authorised, will fund your approved Rongoā Māori sessions. A referral from a GP or clinician in not required for ACC to consider Rongoā treatment, but you or your health provider can include Rongoā in your overall discussion for recovery with ACC. 

Our clinic has a $20 service fee for ACC clients, If this is not able to be paid due to any circumstance please contact your case manager about options before your first appointment with us.

InStep referrals 

Instep provides assistance that allows clients to receive the help they need, Rongoā being an option for treatment. However, there is a process to being referred to us and your case manager needs to match you to the right help that is most beneficial. Therefore, you may request treatment with us, but we may not be your best fit. Communication with your case manager is most important. 

There is no charge for Instep clients and unfortunately at this time, Instep may grant extra sessions if agreed it is beneficial to your case with your case manager.
